Island Games 2025 

Individual Medal Winners from 2023 - pre qualified, subject to an intent to compete and demonstrating fitness in both 2024 & 2025

 

Uncertainty on OD distance in Orkney - necessary to also have a Sprint event as a qualifier

 

Other places by
a. Performance at designated qualifier races will be given greatest weighting
b. Competitive record at secondary races will be taken into
consideration - head to head records
c. Exceptional circumstance – by written submission

 

Team can comprise of up to 10 competitors
a. Selection committee will aim for equality of team member
numbers per sex, but recognise that depth of standard between sexes is different and the selection committee can select any team composition that in its opinion maximises the individual and team medal winning opportunity and development objectives across the whole team.
b. May select up to 2 development athletes that may not qualify through absolute performance merit, but whom the selection committee believe will benefit from the experience for future Island Games.

 

Subject to Age restrictions to compete in Individual event - according to distance Development athletes may be selected for Relay Event only - if the Relay takes place.

 

Athletes will be expected to self-fund participation at the Games, Club will seek to raise central sponsorship to offset some costs but this is not guaranteed.  Selected athletes will make themselves available for fund raising activities.
