Rennes Race Report

There was some excellent racing over in Rennes last weekend.  Guernsey punched well above their weight with some well-deserved podium places.

Max Thornton had a brilliant debut at Olympic distance, and came in 34th.  James Travers had an excellent race and came in 2nd in the Olympic distance race.  It was only Jerseys Thomas Perchard who stood in his way.

Alan Rowe was 7th  with 2nd vet position.  David Crosland proved he wasnt as old and fat as he claimed, with an impressive 17th .  James Gower had an altercation with the tarmac and proved he still needs stabilisers, but came in 19th.  Tim Andrews 48th and Richard Stapley 60th .  Carol-Anne Stapley 219th in the sprint race.

Some great work from the juniors too with Joshua Thornton 2nd and Thomas Stapley in at 45th in the super sprint race.

For some reason, which we are not entirely sure of, the organisers insisted that all the Guernsey and Jersey competitors should take to the podium!  Either they were impressed with our quality, or maybe they were just pleased we turned up to make up the numbers, we simply dont know….  But it was good fun, so for anyone looking for an early season race next year, we would definitely recommend it.

P.S If anyone knows who the guy at the front in blue is, please let us know.
