Competing in his first off island triathlon, Alex Parfit got more than he bargained for at Burnham-on-sea, near Weston-super-Mare as race day produced torrential rain and 60 mile an hour winds.
In an effort not to disappoint the 110 strong field of athletes aged 14 years and below, the organisers took out the cycling stage of the race and converted the race from a triathlon (swim, cycle, run) to an aquathlon (swim, run).
Alex, who is a Beau Sejour Barracuda, equipped himself well...
