We now have enough interest to go ahead with the FUN relay event on Sunday 18 September, so here are the details:
This is only open to year 7 and above due to the open road bike course.
There will be teams of 3 of mixed ability drawn out of a hat on the day. If anyone would like to put a team in as a family, then this will also be allowed.
Each team member will complete a mini triathlon before handing over to the next team member.
The Swim will be around the yellow buoy and back.
The bike will likely be 2 laps of an anti-clockwise loop, the same as the run course for the Pembroke duathlon - up over the hill behind the tip, left at the yellow line (foot down rule applies (marshaled), left at the Chouet cross roads. This a fun event so please don't worry about losing time at any junctions. Due to the nature of the course, it will be draft legal (crit style) on road bikes only - no TT bikes. If anyone doesn't have a road bike but is keen to take part then you can use a TT bike, but use of aero bars is prohibited. This course is dependent on gaining permission to make the tip road one way or have it closed.
The run will also be 2 anti-clockwise loops around the headland to the first car park and back on the road side path.
If you still wish to take part, please can you confirm by 17:00 Friday 16th September in order to prepare the hats for drawing.
Either by email to Smurf46@suremail.gg or FB message. I’ll pick up all the yes’s already given.
Anyone not wanting to take part, if you are free please you volunteer for water safety, time keeping or marshalling.
Lets make this a great (nearly) end of season event.
